and then one day i had this thought: what if i made a cardboard backpack? i have fallen back in love with cardboard, and have also fallen in love with my backpack since i take it everywhere with me. papa lyons said, 'yeahhh it would be a nice piece of art but that's about it.' and i said, umm no.

it's functional so you can keep all your pokemon with you wherever you go.

this is stage one. i will be adding a back padding with straps (that are not made of cardboard) and i will also be painting awesome things on it. stay tuned or else.

notebooks for sale.

so i started making these notebooks and they're pretty sweet. it took a long time to make. i folded the paper, bound it, painted and decorated it myself. they are made of cardboard and printing paper with krylon enamel and yes it's an original polaroid. the other is something i cut out of the transit map from chicago. they have 99 pages to be exact.

i don't know what to price them for, so i guess they're up for the highest bidder.

i went to a show at my friend's house her name is ardilla. she has a hitchhiker selling anarchist literature who has doodley hair. he sings and plays but i didn't get to hear him. i did get to hear the guy that sings songs about pokemon in his spare time though.

so i'm living with this guy named papa lyons. he keeps it real and he watches the news while reading the newspaper. i am going to be doing a small series on him, so there will be actual images of him soon. you must now spend this time preparing yourself for the coming images, so that when they get here, you will be able to keep a straight face, just like him.

wow. it's been a while eh? I have some new eye candy for you kids, in snapshot form of a few adventures i have participated in recently. the summer is well... um summer. and i'm likin' it so far! i guess i like being in ky for now, chicago was getting pretty crazy, and that really sucks when you're broke.

but good news, i got my first photo job in ky this summer, and i think it turned out pretty well, so i have some of those to show you kids too. don't be fooled, they were all shot with natural light. and yes they all look similar because they are headshots.

well i definitely haven't started on my portfolio yet, not having a car really blows right now. but i'm getting my pieces wood fired by tuesday! i will definitely have some pictures up when they come out. cause i love it.
i'm learning about desperation. i'm selling my broken laptop to the apple store, in hopes of making money. i just applied for a job that is looking for 'artistic babysitters' on craigslist. strange as it sounds, there's a whole firm dedicated to this in chicago. yeah. but it kind of interests me. i would actually like to do it.
anyway.

so i had a gallery a long time ago with some friends and it turned into a huge party because we're cool and we had a keg. here's some pictures from the show.

spring break

for spring break we went on a road trip to nashville, came through lexington ky and then stopped in dayton, ohio before landing back in michigan.
we met a lot of crazy people, and it was a lot of fun to finally get a change of scenery and see some people we haven't seen before.
we saw some drunk chick rubbing herself all over an elvis statue
talked to friendly bums
talked to unfriendly bums
and we smoked a lot of cigarettes.

so like to draw a lot, and here are a few ideas i came up with before i was in a screen printing class. i had this idea of starting my own t shirt company which was fun, but now that i am printing, i haven't printed any of these.

so i don't know what made me come up with this lame idea, but i did it anyway, and i just thought i would share this.
this happened maybe last year, and i had no idea how to control lighting, and even worse, i didn't really know what to do with a nude.

pinhole is fun

so i like double exposures, a lot.
and i really like pinhole photography as well. a lot of people don't like it because the images are so ambiguous and indistinct. but that is exactly what i like about it.
some images are good just because of their form. their character and narrative can sometimes be completely formed from simple ambiguity itself.

here are a few images from michigan and also the house my grandmother used to live in, which is right on the property line of the daniel boone national forest.

looks like it's time to start this.
i'm whitefox, and i'm a photographer
but i work with several different mediums, because i just like to.
i paint sometimes, draw a lot, and i write poetry a little.
and i make killer t shirts

anyway

so i did a shoot not too long ago, and it was my first 'fashion' shoot i guess, i see myself as more of an artsy/portrait style photographer, and so it was a lot of fun learning how to experiment with fashion.
